The story

Singing, the way it
should feel.

The Sing Social is a group singing experience for adults. You show up, you sing songs you already love with a room full of people, and you leave lighter than you arrived. There is no audition. There is no experience needed. There is nobody keeping score.

It is not a performance choir. Nobody is going to test you, rank you, or put you on a stage you did not ask for. The point is the hour and a half itself. The warm-up. The harmonies stacking up one part at a time. The moment the whole room locks into a song and you feel it land in your chest.

It is built on 15 years of leading singing groups across the UK. Years of watching what happens to people when they sing together, and what gets in the way. Every part of how a session runs comes from that experience.

Now it is coming to the Greater Richmond Area. Richmond has the people, the creative energy, and the appetite for exactly this. The Sing Social is here to give it somewhere to go.

The Sing Social was born from 15 years of standing at the front of a room and watching something happen to people when they sing together. Not perform. Not audition. Just sing, with other people, to music they love, in a space where nobody is judging them.

Before coming to Virginia, those years were spent leading choirs across the UK, learning what makes a room come alive, what keeps people coming back, and what gets in the way of people just enjoying music together. That experience shapes everything about how The Sing Social is run.

The move to the Greater Richmond Area brought a new question: why doesn't something like this exist here? Richmond has the creative energy, the people, the appetite for exactly this kind of experience. The Sing Social is the answer.

How a session works

From arrival
to applause.

When you arrive

Walk in. Be welcome.

No awkward introductions, no pressure. Grab your spot, say hello to whoever is next to you. The room is friendly by design.

First 15 minutes

Warm up together.

We ease in. Breathing, gentle vocal exercises, a bit of movement. Nothing scary. By the end you'll be surprised what your voice can do.

The main session

Learn the music.

Songs are taught by ear, in parts. No sheet music needed. We build it layer by layer until the room sounds genuinely incredible. That moment happens faster than you'd think.

End of session

Sing it whole.

We put it all together. Full song, full harmony, full energy. The feeling of that moment is why people come back every week.

Do I need any singing experience? +
None at all. Seriously. If you can hum along to the radio, you have everything you need. We've had total beginners and people who've sung for years, and everyone finds their place.
Do I need to read music? +
No. Everything is taught by ear. We use backing tracks and audio references so you can learn your part by listening, not reading notation.
What kind of music do you sing? +
Pop, soul, indie, R&B. Songs you actually know and love. Think Hozier, Fleetwood Mac, Leon Bridges, Chappell Roan. Music with real emotional weight, arranged beautifully for voices.
How much does it cost? +
Sessions are priced per term. Exact pricing will be confirmed when sessions launch. Join the waitlist to be first to know and to access any early member pricing.
Will there be performances? +
Potentially, as the group grows, but performance is never the point. The experience of singing together every week is the thing. Anything else is a bonus.
I'm nervous. Is that okay? +
Completely okay. Most people who walk through the door for the first time are nervous. The room is designed to make that feeling disappear quickly. You won't be singled out, you won't be judged, and you won't regret coming.
